Monetize your site with Adsense .. Part Three

The second method is when you begin really working in marketing.

You will be building web pages specifically for Adsense ads. These pages will be built with high paying keywords and high quality content.

Start by doing a keyword search to find some popular subjects, keywords or phrases related to the theme of your website. Select the ones that have highest number of searches. This means that more people are typing these terms into the search engines. The higher the number the better.  There are many tools that you can use to find profitable keywords and phrases. For quick and easy results you can use the keyword selector tool at Yahoo Search Marketing. It will give you a count of how many times any keyword has been searched for in the last 30 days. Remember the higher the better!  Another place to check is in Google’s Adwords Tool. 

 

Now start writing articles with original content based on the keywords from your search. If you aren't a writer don't worry. There are many ways that you can get content for your site. You can use private label articles that you purchase, or hire a ghostwriter from a site like eLance.com.  We will cover this in more depth in later lessons.

Once you have the content ready you can start building web pages around the articles that include your Adsense blocks.

Monetize your site with Adsense ..Part Two

You should already have a website or at least a basic theme in mind for your Adsense pages. There are two ways that you can get started using Adsense.

The first and easiest way is to put Adsense ads on existing pages that you already have in place. You can do this by following the steps inside your account under the "Adsense Setup" tab.  If you have a blogger site then follow the steps in the “Design” section and then “Layout” area by simply adding the Adsense “gadget.”

With this method you can start earning money with Adsense fairly quickly. In fact you'll be amazed at the results you will be able to achieve in a very short period of time.

The second method will take a little more time.  We will cover that in the next post.

Monetize your site - Google AdSense part One

Besides adding affiliate links, like Amazon, you can monetize your web site using other types of links.  Google's AdSense program is one of the simplest ways to begin earning money using your blog web site.

Let’s start from the beginning, just in case you are new to Adsense, by going over some of its finer points. For those of you who have used Adsense, you might want to skip to a different Adsense lesson.

Adsense delivers relevant text and image ads that are precisely targeted to your site content. Every time someone sees an ad on your site and clicks on it you will make money. Sometimes it's only a few cents. Sometimes it's a few dollars. It all depends on the individual ad.

Adsense is considered a very powerful tool to many website owners. If you go to most any website these days you will see Adsense ad blocks incorporated somewhere on the page. Did you know that there are many people that make a full time living from Adsense alone?

Adsense makes it pretty easy for you to start earning revenue from every page on your website almost instantly. "If you can copy and paste you can put Adsense on your website". As with any good tool Adsense has the power to help you generate a very nice income when it's used properly.

Let's start off by taking the time to get to know Google Adsense and learn how to use it properly. You would be surprised how many people skip this part and then they are literally shocked when they don't make any money!

If you take a little time to become familiar with the program it will greatly benefit you in the long run, by helping you maximize your earnings. In this course we are going to cover the basic points that you need to start using Adsense and making money with it.

Then take some time exploring the site. Google wants you to be successful in your Adsense endeavors, so they have made it as easy as possible for you by putting up several tutorials to help you get started.

They will teach you all about Adsense for content and search. They have great case studies, optimization tips a blog and a forum where you can learn what works, what doesn't and get help if you need it. They provide all of this for free so why not take advantage of it.

Using Social Media

If you already have a Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or other social media site you are ready to get started, if not join one or several of these sites and begin adding friends and acquatances and posting regularly.  Get started now.  As you sign up make sure to put your blogs site in your profile somewhere so that people can find it easily.  Always add your picture also -- it really adds a personal touch and makes people think you are real.  Post regularly and make your posts say something.  You can post engaging quotations as well as posting your latest blog.

Get the word out

Begin actively participating on online forums, commenting on other blogs, and commenting on social media networks like facebook and twitter.  Try to just be social when you are on other sites - don't try to be a salesperson.  If people like what you have to say in these places they will likely look at your blog (make sure you somehow highlight your website address).  Having fresh and original content on your website will keep readers coming back for more information and they will also be more interested in the items you recommend through your site.

Creating Profitable Affiliate Websites

One of the easiest ways to make money online is by developing a detailed, honest and straightforward review website for your niche market.

A review site offers important information to buyers, such as giving them a breakdown of the product or service, including personal testimonials, feedback as well as getting your visitors involved in posting their own comments and experiences.

One of the greatest aspects of a review site is that it can fit into literally any niche or market online.

From Amazon affiliate review sites, to developing review sites around the television programs, movies and music that you love, you can build a very profitable business online, all powered by targeted review websites!

And the great part is you can build them for free if you put some time into doing it yourself using a service like blogger.

What is your area of expertise?

We call it "niche marketing"  it means the specific area you are marketing to.

One of my areas is gardening -- I have been gardening for 20 some years on my own - and professionally for 12 years total.  So I am an "expert" in gardening -- I have used and can review many tools, seeds and other products that are useful to gardeners.

If you blog about your young children --- maybe you are an expert on diapers or other baby items.  Whatever you blog about or are interested in you can become an expert in and right articles that are rich in content for your blog and then use those to market items from different companies like Amazon.

By using niche marketing you target an audience and since you are an expert in that area they will likely listen to your thoughts and hopefully click your links to check out your products.

Weekend time: Goals and Planning Time

Since it's the weekend, take some time to develop and work on your goals and create a plan of action.  If you are going through the book Write It Down, Make It Happen then read through the next chapter or two as you work on the exercises.    If you haven't taken the time to order the book do so today, either the paperback and get it next week or the Kindle version and get it today (Kindle software is free as a download to any pc).
If you are bypassing the book, then make sure to do your best at deciding on goals.  I like to take the time, even though it sometimes takes me a couple of days to write down at least ten different goals.  I write them on several notecards and have them available to look at several times throughout the day to help remind me of where I am going.
If you take affiliate marketing seriously then it will pay you.  Your goals, plans and actions are the most significant part of building and running your home based affiliate business.  Take the time necessary to create and evaluate your goals, plans and actions; use your weekend time for this type of thing as well as having much  needed fun and relaxation with friends and family and then get back to work on Monday!  If you use Write It Down, Make It Happen you will find tools to help you with writing and developing your goals as well as stories of motivation and experience using different techniques.  I highly recommend you check it out.

Making Money with Amazon (pt 4)

Amazon has some great features for it's affiliates -- you can watch your account and see your earnings grow regularly and find out if and how many people are actually purchasing through your links.

Make sure that you take advantage of the “Reports” section within your Amazon Associates account.

It will provide you with important information regarding your earnings, as well as extensive data about the activity of your Amazon links, aStores and campaigns (including traffic details, conversion rates and more).

Quick start ... making money at home

So here is just one quick start idea for making money at home.
Start blogging - pick a topic you are interested in and tell your friends and family that you are starting a blog and looking forward to using it to make money.  You need to be consistent while blogging, and blog regularly.
Become an Amazon affiliate - it's simple and people use Amazon all the time.  You just sign up on Amazon -- but make sure to do the homework and read the rules on Amazon.  You don't want to get shut down before you get started.
Write a few reviews for different products on your website and put in your Amazon links.  Now let people know again that you are blogging and they can check it out.  And tell them to use your Amazon link -- tell them to click on any links you have.   More about more links later....

Still slow .. but consistent

So February brought in more money from working online just nothing significant. 
I am still working every day on my websites and trying to build them and my lists so that eventually I will have a bigger income source. 
Will write more about this later....

I have been reading an awesome book which I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to help themself create goals and promote self-initiative.  I have learned that I need to have a really big "why" for doing things, something that is strong enough to move me toward my goals and keep me headed in that direction -- I think that is fodder for another post some time.  For now, I am working on creating my goals and making things happen.

The book I have been reading is called Write It Down, Make It Happen. I think this is probably one of the best down-to-earth - basics (and yet not basic) books about goal setting and creating your intentions that I have read in several years. Working through the exercises in this book I have learned how to really figure out what it is that I want to create -- I can actually now Visualize what I want to create down to the details. I believe more and more every day that what I am intending to create is being created as I continue to hone in on the details because I am continuing to go back to what I want to create and think about it, reconsider it as I progress through the book and exercises. This book also has helped me deal with my own fears of failure of creating what I want and has helped me learn to express those fears and be done with them. I think this book is helping me to really take my journalling skills to a new level which is also helping me to create on a whole new level. Write It Down, Make It Happen is guiding me to work towards my creation and is helping me find confidence in my ability to make my creations happen in "real life." I feel energized as I consider my experience of creation and I believe this book has been able to give my process of creation and goal writing new life.

Slow money

Up until this past year, I have been merely doing small things online to make money.
Last week -- I made almost $27 using one site I have and then another $8 from a second site I play with.  It's a good thing I still have a regular job -- $35 in one week isn't about to buy more than one tank of gas or maybe a couple bags of groceries.  So from now on I am planning on stepping up the online work and actually create a few sites that will make more money.

I think one of the simplest ways to get started making money online is simply to start writing about what you want to do and then start learning and as you go along write out everything you do.  If you start to make money on something and you can re-create those steps exactly then you should be able to do it over and over.

OK....so I am tired of having to work all the time making money for a company or some other person, I am going to do this.  I am going to break out and make money for myself while working on my own terms.
